Mark's Finest Papers

I hope you like this stamp set. I love it! My daughter loves flamingos. I can see her Christmas presents wrapped in paper that I've stamped with these fun flamingos!
This take out box was cut out of designer papers at the local scrapbook store. I purchased a membership to use the die cut machines there and went to town! While I was at the store, they had a class on "sponging" die cuts. I decided to try it out on this box.

This scene was created using the polka dotted palm tree from the Flamingos on Vacation set. I colored the stamp's leaves with a marker and then stamped. I didn't like the result at first but now I do!

Today I've made a 6" x 6" cork board/message board using Scenic Selections. I stamped in the tree first. It's bare. I stamped the smallest leaf from the set to fill it in! I couldn't believe how well the leaf worked on this. The fence was stamped next. I lined it up and moved it across the page. Next was the rocks. I finished with the tufts of grass and birds. I sponged in the sun, grass and sky. The sentiment is from North American Woods.

This is a side view. I wrote a tutorial on this project for SpeedyTV. You can find it HERE.

I made this mini cork Post-It Holder for today's challenge on SCS. I added a magnet to the back. I is now on my fridge!

Good Luck on the Hop!

I especially like today's stamp set. It is a silhouette set that features people fishing. It makes great masculine cards. I always need masculine cards for the men and boys in my life. Don't you?
This stamp card was made by stamping the focal image in black. I sponged in the other colors and reverse masked in the sun. The other images are from a set released this month called Scenic Selections. I love how the fence is so easy to stamp! Those birds are the perfect size for this card, too!
This is an altered cheese box. I did a tutorial on SpeedyTV. You can see it HERE. I CASED a lady named Carole. I hope she doesn't mind.

I put a Gift Card inside the box.

Good Luck on the blog hop!

This is the first day of this month's Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich company blog hop. Today I want to share this very easy altered tin. You can use any tin or box you like.

I do not own a die cut machine. So when you see things used on my cards are altered items it means I had to borrow a machine or Frankenstein my creation! This one was Frankensteined! Hee!

I used the circles from a card that was sent to me to cover the top of the prima tin. I stamped the image and colored with pencils. It was cut out and popped with dots.
This card was easy and fast. I cut the hole in the paper for the see thru window. Then, I used a pencil to mark the oval. I stamped in the sentiment and erased the oval.

The background was stamped with the larger image in VersaMark to get the designer paper look.

Good Luck on the hop!

I think the best stamp set was saved for last this month. The sayings in this set crack me up. I like both of the trains I used today.

I received a card from my daughter that had this die-cut on it. I removed the die-cut and flipped it over to use the other side. I know I seem to be cheap. I have to be. I live on a fixed income and do not own a die-cut machine. My daughter does not expect me to keep her cards forever. She told me to reuse what I can. The blue paper was a piece of wrapping paper from a gift I received. I reused the blue ribbon, too!

This is a tin filled with a watch.
 It measures 4 1/2" x 2 1/2"

I stamped the image and colored with markers. I found the tin in my sewing box. Not sure but think it had candy in it originally. I put a watch in it for my grandson. I put the time at an hour late so it would fit the saying.

This mini Post-It holder was made with a cork coaster. I found 2 sets of them at a yard sale. The price tags said they came from Hobby Lobby.

I stamped the images in Memento Ink. The saying, cowboy and barbed wire are from Hey Cowboy. The cracked image is from Background Fun. Both are in the Mark's Finest Papers a Heinricht Company online store. I used that background on this set because it reminds me of the dry cracked soil in the desert. This cowboy looks hot and tired. I think it's a good fit.

I'm not sure if I got the Post-It's from Office Depot. The mini clip came from my daughter. She said she got it in a package from Staples.

This card was easy to make. I started with the background and worked to the top. The sun was masked in and sponged. I stamped the images in Memento Ink. The cracked stamp was off stamped many times to fill the area.

The beads/feathers/leather are from a Paper Craft Pack from Mark's Finest Papers a Heinricht Company. I like the way they add color and softness to the card.

Good Luck on the hop!

Mark's Finest Papers

This message board was made using Daffodil Greetings. I like this set because it is easy to color. The areas that need to be highlighted are marked easily. There is no guess work. Can't beat that with my daddy's hickory stick! I cut down an old cork tile from Home Depot with a craft blade and a ruler. (6"x6") I then used a hand drill to add the holes for the giant eyelets. I put a large magnet on the back in case I want to put this on my fridge. I figure it will fit my kitchen decor! I pinned on a note to buy milk today. I forgot I was babysitting my grandbaby tonight!

This card was made using the butterfly from Daffodil Greetings. I had a scrap piece of washi paper and built my card from that. I used Boudior Palette ink for the butterfly background. The saying is from a larger saying on the stamp set. I cut it out because Peace fit in the circle! I found the tassel in my sewing box. I'm not sure where it came from. I find many treasures there!hee! The bracket was on a card I received from my daughter. I decided to repurpose it.

Good Luck on the hop!
